Napoli

La Reggia di Caserta

The Royal Palace of Caserta was commissioned by the King of Naples Carlo di Borbone, who, taken from a "competition" with the French royals and eager to donate to Naples structures that could play a role of capital-city of European level [4 ], decided to inaugurate a palace that could rival in magnificence and grandeur with that of Versailles [5]. For security reasons, the chosen location was Casertavecchia, about 15 km north of the capital (see British naval expedition against Naples in 1742).

Grotta delo Smeraldo

The Emerald Grotto is a karstic cavity partially invaded by the sea situated in the territory of the municipality of Conca dei Marini. It was discovered by the fisherman Luigi Buonocore in 1932. It measures about 45 x 32 meters and is about 24 meters high, and owes its name to the emerald shades that the water takes on due to sunlight filtered through an underwater fissure that connects it to the sea open.

Il Sentiero degli Dei

The Path of the Gods connects Agerola, a village on the hills of the Amalfi Coast, to Nocelle, a fraction of Positano perched on the slopes of Mount Pertuso. Pompei

The archaeological excavations of Pompeii about 35 km from Vietri have returned the remains of the ancient city, buried under a blanket of ashes and lapilli during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79, together with Ercolano, Stabiae and Oplonti. Most of the recovered finds are now preserved in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples and in small quantities in the Antiquarium of Pompei.
